This November marks the start of alopecia support groups in the provinces of British Columbia and Nova Scotia after a hiatus related to the pandemic.

Join the first British Columbia support meeting on Tuesday, November 8th from 6:45 PM -7:30 PM, hosted by Sarah Badley. The BC Support Group will meet online on the second Tuesday of each month at the same time. Sarah’s goal is to build a community of people connected through alopecia in the province. “It is really important to connect as it can make us feel less alone in our journey,” says Sarah.

The BC Support Group meetings will be held on Zoom, with in-person meetups in the Vancouver area as a possibility for the future.

Similarly, the Halifax Support Group encourages participation of anyone in the province with alopecia and family members looking for support and connection. The Halifax Group is organized by CANAAF Board Member, Melissa Riley, and meets in-person at various locations in the area. The first meetup is in Bedford on November 20th from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM.

CANAAF’s Halifax Group was formed in 2013 and is a family-friendly environment for people of all ages and stages of their journey to find support. In the past, the group has met for conversation at local cafes and enjoyed activities together such as bowling. Stay tuned for what’s planned by joining our mailing list.
