Location: Quebec/Canada

CANAAF is a Canadian registered charity that provides education, support, and essential resources to families impacted by alopecia areata. We are currently seeking volunteers to join our board of directors. As the Francophone Liaison, you will provide an essential connection with our French-speaking community members.

Summary: Regularly monitor the francophone CANAAF Facebook group. Share updates regarding new CANAAF events or pertinent information within the CANAAF Facebook group. Actively engage with the francophone community. Translate content for CANAAF’s online platforms, including website and social media. Organize and coordinate French events for CANAAF and establish a support network within the French community.

Minimum Board term of 2 years. Option to renew with Board approval.

As Francophone Liaison & member of the Board of Directors, you will:

• Monitor the francophone CANAAF Facebook group and actively engage with the community
• Organize and host new CANAAF events tailored for the French community
• Translate existing and new content for the CANAAF’s social media platforms when required
• Speak to the media and represent CANAAF to the French community when required
• Act as emcee/moderator for francophone CANAAF events when required
• Participate in planning/organizing and attend annual conference.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Time requirement is approx. 15 hours/month
• Fluent in French and in English
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Time-management skills
• Ability to work independently
• Capable computer skills
• Speak to the media and represent CANAAF to the community when required
• Help plan, organize and participate in CANAAF events
• Participate in monthly board meetings
• Abide by CANAAF’s mandate and policies
